US President-elect Barack Obama has promised massive economic stimulus package to revive flagging economy. Most of this money will go into green jobs and is expected to generate close to 2 million new jobs.

2 million new jobs will require at huge amount of investment in PC hardware, software, related software services. Not to mention data center growth, which if we are reading it right, will get incentive to adopt green practices. LA Times reports on industry buzz around this expectation:

Obama’s proposal to weatherize homes would pay for itself through energy savings while putting legions of unemployed construction workers back on the job. A $100-billion investment in a green recovery could create 2 million jobs within two years, a good chunk of them in retrofitting, according to a recent University of Massachusetts study.
