Compute Analyst

Anthropic San Francisco, CA Full-time $160,000 – $220,000

As a technical analyst on the Compute Capacity Strategy & Operations team, you will lead observability and tooling work to help the team make planning decisions and create tools to ensure efficient and effective scaling. You will collaborate closely with Capacity Efficiency Engineering, Infrastructure, and Finance & Strategy teams to optimize resource utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop self-service tools for teams to understand their capacity, efficiency, and costs
  • Build observability infrastructure for GPU fleet utilization and capacity planning
  • Collaborate with Capacity Efficiency Engineering and Infrastructure teams
  • Create tooling to support efficient and effective scaling decisions
  • Optimize resource utilization across compute infrastructure

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in technology infrastructure, capacity planning, or technical analytics
  • Strong skills in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools
  • Understanding of GPU architectures and cloud infrastructure economics
  • Ability to translate complex infrastructure data into planning decisions
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field

Nice to have

  • Experience at a hyperscaler or AI lab
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration at scale
  • Understanding of ML training workload patterns
