Data Center Engineer, Power Systems Modeling
As a Power Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex power systems, with a focus on microgrids and mission-critical environments like data centers. You will leverage expertise in electrical studies, power modeling, and renewable energy integration to drive innovation and ensure infrastructure reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead investigation and integration of renewable power generation and energy storage technologies
- Perform detailed electrical studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash)
- Utilize advanced power modeling techniques to optimize existing power architectures
- Create and maintain comprehensive electrical single-line diagrams and power system models
- Collaborate with senior team members to develop future data center power architecture concepts
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in power systems engineering with a focus on electrical studies and power modeling
- 5 years using power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or similar)
- 5 years in microgrid design and implementation including renewable energy integration
- Experience with energy storage systems including utility-scale battery
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
Nice to have
- MS in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop testing using RTDS or OPAL-RT
- Experience with Bayesian modeling for optimizing power system performance
