Software Engineer, Data Center, Power Modeling

Part of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) power, the Power Modeling team’s mission is to build tools and services to gather and serve accurate power data about how Google’s fleet of data centers are planned and built, from power grid to chips. You will develop software that models power flow and capacity across the entire infrastructure stack.
Responsibilities
- Build tools to model power capacity and usage from grid interconnection to chip level
- Develop data pipelines for power telemetry across Google’s datacenter fleet
- Create services that inform capacity planning and power architecture decisions
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and capacity planners
- Maintain and improve power modeling accuracy and coverage
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in at least one systems programming language (C++, Java, Go, or Python)
- Experience with data modeling and distributed systems
- Understanding of electrical power systems concepts
